The opportunity: The Landscape Officer is an operational role that works with a range of stakeholders and landholders to manage natural resources through a whole of landscape approach. To deliver on the Limestone Coast Pest Management Strategy, the Landscape Officer supports local communities and landholders to increase understanding, acceptance, and adoption of programs for the management of pest species across various land tenures. The role also collects, records, and interprets information on declared or threatening pest animal and plant infestations. The role assists in the planning, implementation, and assessment of on-ground control programs and, where necessary, undertakes compliance activities as an Authorised Officer under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 . Special conditions: Position is based at Mount Gambier. A current minimum class C driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4WD is essential. Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory criminal history check. Will have the opportunity to participate in fire management or associated duties. Some out of hours work and intrastate travel involving overnight absences from home may be required. Required to hold or be willing to obtain a full pest management technician’s licence. Required to undertake identified training to be appointed as an Authorised Officer under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019. Required to work alone in a field environment, including working in adverse weather conditions from time to time. Required to participate in the LC Landscape Board’s Performance Development and Review Program. Contract: Ongoing Remuneration: OPS $67,589 - $72,033 max p.a.
