What we offer Salary packaging options up to $18,450 per annum tax free Remote allowance of $3,300 per annum (if applicable) Annual airfare allowance 6 weeks annual leave 3 weeks personal leave Relocation allowance About the role North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency is seeking a Law and Justice Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will operate alongside NAAJA’s criminal and civil law sections. It delivers a range of innovative and culturally strengthening projects, including our nationally recognised community legal education. What you’ll be doing Facilitate law & justice projects section staff to develop, implement and review yearly project plans, ensuring consistency with NAAJA’s strategic plan Manage and supervise law and justice projects section staff Ensure timely and effective management of the Law & Justice Projects section, including annual section planning and regular section meetings consistent with NAAJA’s Strategic Plan, and contribution to NAAJA’s reporting processes, including annual reports and board reports Administer the law & justice projects section budget, ensuring income and expenditure for projects are planned and managed in a strategic and sustainable manner, as well as liaison with funding bodies, and supervision of acquittal reports Lead NAAJA’s proactive advocacy at relevant NT and Commonwealth meetings, committees and forums and represent NAAJA as required What we’re looking for Advanced tertiary qualifications in law or equivalent and significant experience Leadership and management experience, including a capacity to develop and strengthen the skills of a diverse team of legal and non-legal staff, and creating a team environment where staff are proud of their contribution and embrace NAAJA’s strategic goals Demonstrated commitment to Aboriginal justice issues and high-level understanding of the civil and criminal justice systems in the Northern Territory Requirements Current drivers licence Ability to obtain a satisfactory “Working with Children Clearance” (Ochre Card) upon commencement Satisfactory criminal history check and no history of disqualification from employment by a legal practice Ability and willingness to travel to remote areas How to apply If you’re looking to make a lasting impact in indigenous youth justice and join a team doing meaningful work, we want to hear from you.
