Position Summary: Based in our Brisbane office, we have a full-time opportunity available to join the Twomey team in our rapidly growing litigation practice. Working Monday – Friday, the role is fast paced and offers an exciting opportunity for career minded professionals to progress their legal career in a supportive environment. We are seeking a motivated lawyer who has been admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Queensland with up to 2 years PAE in a commercial litigation role. You have a strong interest in litigation and dispute resolution with a focus on providing quality legal services to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients. Working under the guidance of our senior lawyers, you will further your knowledge and experience by: Performing legal research and preparing memorandums of your findings for senior lawyers Reviewing documents for disclosure Preparing evidence in accordance with the relevant rules and practice directions Preparing Court documents including pleadings, submissions and affidavits, for proceedings filed in Courts and Tribunals in Queensland, New South Wales and other jurisdictions including the Federal jurisdiction, other commissions and authorities (e.g. Fair Work Commission, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, Australian Financial Complaints Authority) Drafting correspondence to clients, other parties, experts, and the relevant Court/Tribunal Taking instructions from clients and managing communication by providing timely updates and advice Assisting with the preparation for trial and hearings Performing file management tasks including diarising calendar appointments, filing correspondence and maintaining file notes and records About you: Strong literacy and numeracy skills with a high level of attention to detail Empathetic, trustworthy, and capable of handling confidential information with discretion Team player with a collaborative approach who can foster positive relationships with co-workers Strong work ethic, high ethical standards and commitment to professional integrity Dedication to high quality work Strong initiative and problem-solving skills Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage tasks and prioritise effectively Motivated and eager to develop as a lawyer Proficient technical skills including in MS Office, with experience in Actionstep and NetDocuments advantageous but not essential Please submit your application via Seek, including a cover letter and CV, outlining why you believe you will be a great fit for our business.
