We invite you to become a valued part of the Integrity and Assurance team at the Victorian Catholic Education Authority as our Lead Assurance Advisor, School Compliance Reviews. The Role Within Education and Integrity, our Assurance and Integrity team is a dedicated group passionate about upholding and maintaining the highest standards in education compliance. The newly created position of Lead Assurance Advisor, School Compliance Reviews offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the compliance landscape within Victorian Catholic schools and to lead a dedicated team committed to high standards of education and child safety. The key purpose of this role is to ensure that Victorian Catholic schools meet minimum standards, including the Child Safe Standards. This is achieved by overseeing the school review program, where the VCEA conducts compliance assessments for over 100 Catholic schools annually. Additionally, the role is responsible for facilitating a culture of continuous improvement in school practices and involves onsite visits and collaboration with school leaders and communication with school proprietors. What you’ll bring The Lead Assurance Advisor, School Compliance Reviews holds an important role in the business to ensure that Victorian Catholic schools meet minimum standards, including the Child Safe Standards. You will have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of key legislative and regulatory frameworks within education or a complementary industry. Such as a working knowledge of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006, Education and Training Reform Regulations 2017, and minimum standards for school and boarding premises registration would be held in high regard but not essential. Your compliance and regulatory expertise may have been gained in other sectors. Experience in navigating compliance frameworks, with an ability for ensuring adherence to standards. As the Lead Assurance Advisor, School Compliance Reviews, you will oversee a team of school reviewers for the school review program, conducting compliance assessments and audits for over 100 Catholic schools annually. Having previous experience leading teams, you will bring your already refined abilities and lead from the front, fostering a collaborative culture that focuses on integrity and accountability. Your team will be inspired by your thirst for continuous improvement; you will have previous experience in designing and delivering training programs to enhance your team's capabilities. Reviewing and refining processes regularly to ensure they are consistent and aligned with requirements. Your project planning experience will be well refined over the years. Managing contracts and delivering outcomes will be second nature to you. Stellar interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills will position you for success. You will bring a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse stakeholders, using an empathy-led approach to deliver and provide feedback to proprietors and schools and prepare formal reports to a high standard. You will have a sharp eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to assess risks and provide practical, solution-focused advice. With a proactive mindset, you’ll thrive both independently and collaboratively, meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities, and contributing to the success of the team. Qualifications, Experience, and Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification in risk, audit, compliance, legal, or other relevant field. A minimum of four years' experience in education administration, law, audit, compliance, risk, or a related field. Previous experience in onsite compliance review capacity in a related field would be held in high regard. Must hold and maintain a valid Victorian driver's license, have access to a reliable car, and be willing to travel to schools in metropolitan and regional Victoria.
