The Opportunity Exciting, greenfield opportunity for a senior technology lawyer to join the Sydney office of a growing and innovative organisation to lead their APAC legal function. Key Responsibilities Provide expert advice and support to various business units in the organisation including procurement, sales, and partnerships. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS contracts, partnership deals, vendor agreements, employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, and platform integrations. Handle multiple deals while offering strong business and legal guidance to other colleagues, and teams internationally, maintaining a clear focus on company priorities. Offering strategic guidance on emerging technology trends, and their legal implications through a commercial lens. Ideal Candidate Minimum 7 years PAE with relevant experience gained from time spent either in a technology/ TMT team of a reputable law firm or an inhouse counsel at a technology business (ideally both). Deep understanding of technology law, and experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of SaaS contracts. Strong knowledge of Australian data privacy laws and regulations including the Privacy Act. Ability to provide strategic and pragmatic legal advice, exercising sound commercial judgement.
