Learn more about SEEK Pass at: About the Role As a Lead Engineer, you are an experienced and autonomous leader within our SEEK Pass Engineering teams. In this role, you will drive technical alignment, enhance engineering practices, and ensure the overall health of the team’s technical direction. You will lead the development of software within product delivery, systems, or platform teams, ensuring engineering excellence and the creation of scalable, reliable, and user-centric solutions. In addition to your hands-on contributions, you will provide guidance and mentorship to Software Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth across the team. As a passionate advocate for engineering best practices, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical strategy and ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and maintainability. A technical, people leader who might manage a team of between 3-7 Engineers from Grad - Staff level. Help with mentoring and leading others, cut the code, help review, ensure the systems are reliable and secure. Part of a shared leadership group across Product and Operations for SEEK Pass. Launching credentials across our SEEK brands in Asia. Potential to participate or be involved in building SEEK's new references platform. Responsibilities You'll play a meaningful role in: Helping to build, maintain and improve our platforms. Protecting the security and privacy of the user data. Integrating with partners and authorities. Having real involvement in the business direction of the product. Some of the technology we're using includes: Ruby on Rails. Node.js. GraphQL. PostgreSQL and Redis. All aspects of AWS. Qualifications For this role, we have a very open mind in terms of specific work experience. Here are some things we would regard highly: Significant experience either on the back end with Ruby on Rails, or frontend with React & Typescript. Experience leading teams using agile software development practices. Writing testable, effective and communicative code. Architecting and building highly available, scalable, secure & performant systems. Data modelling, design patterns, understanding trade-offs. Strong experience in agile software development practices. Experience in developing and expanding microservices architecture. Experience in integrating with third-party systems. Strong data & application security knowledge and skills. Solid understanding of and experience with AWS services.
