Role Overview / Objective: As Lead Front-End Developer at Finsure, you will be a crucial member of our Dev team. The Front-End Development Lead is responsible for overseeing and guiding front-end development efforts for web applications. This role combines hands-on development, technical leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of top-tier front-end solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern front-end frameworks including Angular, React and Next.js. Working closely with Business Analysts, UI/UX designers, product owners, business stakeholders, fellow front-end developers and back-end developers, the Front-End Development Lead ensures that front-end components are performant, secure, and aligned with overall business and technical objectives. Key Responsibilities: Lead Front-End Engineering for Web: Oversee development of user interfaces for web and mobile platforms using modern frameworks like React, Angular, Next.js and emerging front-end technologies. Hands-on Development: Actively design and develop front-end code, ensuring high performance, scalability, and adherence to coding standards. Performance Optimization: Implement techniques like lazy loading, tree shaking, and code splitting to optimize performance for fast, efficient applications. Component-Based Architecture: Ensure reusable, maintainable, and modular components across projects, promoting consistent design and development patterns. Accessibility and Security Compliance: Ensure applications meet WCAG standards for accessibility and implement security best practices to protect against vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF). Collaboration and Mentorship: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (back-end developers, UX/UI designers, product owners) and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence. Working within an Agile Environment: Experience working within and an understanding of Agile methodology, including estimation and meeting relevant deadlines as part of a team. Ability to support a Production System: Provide guidance and troubleshooting around a live, running environment, ensuring system availability. Experience, Skills and Qualifications: The candidate must also have a strong grasp of security and accessibility best practices, including techniques to prevent XSS and CSRF attacks and compliance with WCAG standards. Collaboration and communication skills are key, as the role involves working closely with designers, product owners, back-end developers, and other stakeholders, while also mentoring other developers. Additionally, the candidate should be experienced with automation and testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, and React Testing Library to ensure code reliability and maintainability. Technical Requirements: Personal Qualities and Attributes: Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage, providing direction, mentorship, and support to team members. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in both traditional and event-driven integration contexts. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Growth Mindset: Be open to using new technologies and frameworks as they emerge to meet business needs.
