Our Energy and Resources Engineering Division delivers specialist mining, energy, hydrogen and renewable energy projects across the country. These include process plant modifications, upstream flowlines, well leases, network gathering systems, major gas transmission pipelines, above ground processing facilities, as well as hydrogen and renewable energy facilities. About the role: The Lead Process Control Engineer Energy & Resources role is responsible for the preparation of high quality, timely designs, documentation and specifications satisfying both organisation and client expectations, ensuring professional and statutory standards are met. Preparation and review of engineering design documents (Control Narratives, Functional Design Specifications, Detailed Design Specifications, P&IDs, C&Es, etc.) Programming control and safety systems (DCS/PLC/SIS/SCADA) as part of project commissioning activities. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Australian and client standards/specifications relating to DCS and safety PLC design and installation/commissioning. Attend factory/site acceptance testing of control logic changes. Liaise with internal stakeholders (discipline engineers, Project Managers), client representatives, vendors and other SMEs as required. Oversee successful project delivery and mentor/guide junior resources. Modify company procedures/templates/processes to optimise project delivery. Attend HAZOP/CHAZOP/SIL assessment reviews. Contribute to project tenders, including budget allocation and schedule requirements. Health, Safety and Environment: Ensure all work undertaken in area of responsibility is done within OHS&W legislation and using safe work practices. Take reasonable care of own OHS&W and that of others in the workplace. Constantly review safety working procedures and practices within area of responsibility. Develop a safe work environment by controlling, directing and monitoring work practices within area of responsibility. What we are looking for: Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Chemical Engineering. 8+ years of demonstrated technical experience. Experience leading complex control system upgrade projects. Experience within the Australian Onshore Gas or Mining industries preferred. Knowledge of OPC, Modbus and Ethernet protocols. Experience in designing and tuning process control schemes. Commissioning experience (highly regarded). Functional Safety Certification (well regarded). High level communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. A strong commitment to client satisfaction and quality work. Ability to lead multiple projects and to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary projects. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client requirements. Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills and initiative and ability to solve problems. Readily contributes ideas and information. Willingness to learn. Enthusiastic and motivated. Client focused and contributes to the achievement of client goals.
