The QFD provides a multi-hazard emergency response, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and provides a number of functions supporting community safety outcomes. The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue (QFR), Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ), as well as the broader department which work together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and other emergencies on Queensland communities and support our large volunteer membership across the state. The QFD is an organisation that is focused on reframing the department’s relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations through the Path to Treaty, Closing the Gap and building our cultural capability. Purpose of the role Strategic Content Services provide support to the department’s media, corporate communications, intelligence and emergency management functions, including community engagement, partnerships and sponsorships and public affairs. Through a service-delivery model, the team delivers breaking news, live event coverage, media opportunities and targeted campaign content to stakeholders and emergency management partners. The team also provides heightened media, communications and production support to emergency services stakeholders during critical incidents such as campaign bushfire, cyclone, storm, and flood events in Queensland to support essential public information and intelligence functions. Reporting to the Lead Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing the processes of content workflow, project design and team project delivery, as well as covering breaking news, live events, media opportunities and campaigns in order to provide high value content and efficient production results to our portfolio partners and support senior executives with advice and best practice use of systems and reporting functions. Key requirements Highly desirable requirements Experience in newsgathering, digital journalism, production project management and end to end creative content delivery. Your key accountabilities Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to: Oversee the scheduling and booking of production commissions and strategic projects across partner agencies to ensure efficient delegation of resources and succinct delivery of projects. Manage the production project management workflow from creative concept to project delivery, including the brief, approvals and final output stages. Coordinate team scheduling and end to end logistics to ensure projects are delivered on time, on target and on budget. Write and executive produce web-based series, long form and high-value content as commissioned by partner agencies with high measurable impact as the intended result. Produce and publish finished content packages, operate live-streaming, vision switching and news packaging systems for digital platforms in order to influence public safety conversations and align with organisational goals. Build, liaise and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with vendors and clients to achieve high value project outcomes to ensure business objectives are achieved. Respond to on-call and large scale events out of hours and weekends, when required to support the effective delivery of essential information to the public during emergency events. Mentor media, communications and community engagement officers and projects team on high value content creation in order to enable knowledge sharing and standardisation across the agencies.
