About the Role Based at our Perth office, this role will support the Team Leader in ensuring that people, systems, processes, and resources are in place to deliver high-performing rotating equipment and reliability engineering support for Santos WA assets. Leading a team and collaborating closely with the engineering function, the objective is to drive discipline alignment with the Santos SMS, enhance the reliability of rotating equipment, complete assigned failure investigations, and ensure compliance with all Santos QA requirements and standards. Key accountabilities include: Ensure suitable rotating equipment and reliability support is available for the facilities. Support the Team Leader in carrying out ongoing performance management and reviews of rotating equipment and reliability engineers. Manage machinery threats and deviations within the Santos Risk Register. Assist the Team Leader in establishing support models with other divisions (e.g., operations, maintenance). Take ownership of discipline management of change, technical requests, and master data change requests. Lead, mentor, and support the professional development of rotating and reliability engineers, enabling them to provide day-to-day support and troubleshooting for Santos WA assets. Liaise with the Engineering Function to drive discipline alignment with the Santos Management System. Monitor and continuously improve the reliability of rotating equipment within Santos WA assets. Complete assigned failure investigations. Complete Management of Change, engineering requests, and Workpack development, ensuring compliance with all Santos QA requirements and standards/specifications. Coordinate consultants in providing engineering designs and technical advice. Ensure that engineering tasks are carried out to a high degree of workmanship and conform to relevant Santos QA/QC and Engineering Design Practices and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as required at the direction of the Reliability Engineering Team Leader. About You You bring extensive experience in asset operations within the oil and gas industry, with significant exposure to major maintenance and technical expertise in a wide range of rotating equipment, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic understanding of operational needs. Your strong technical skills in engineering principles, problem-solving, and design innovation focus on functionality, safety, and sustainability. Your project management expertise ensures efficient planning, execution, and teamwork, while your communication skills enable clear and professional conveyance of technical information. You are solutions-focused, accountable, and people-centric, with a collaborative approach that creates a positive team environment. Your coaching and mentoring abilities, combined with strong interpersonal skills, are key to your success in this role. You will be experienced in: Extensive experience in Rotating Equipment engineering, either in an operational or support engineering role, including work with large compressors, generators, pumps, and associated prime movers. Proficient in the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Experienced with condition monitoring packages, including MHM, Meridium, or similar tools. Skilled in applying structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies, such as Apollo or Six Sigma. Qualified to fulfill the requirements for chartership with a registered engineering body. Proven ability to manage substantial vendor contracts with significant financial value. Strong Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) skills. Demonstrated experience in managing change processes effectively. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, enabling you to effectively guide and develop staff. In addition, it is a requirement for this role that you hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree or an equivalent qualification. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is preferred, or you should be in the process of attaining it. National travel may be required for this role, based on business needs.
