Enquiries: An opportunity has opened up for a new Learning Support Officer to join the St Damian's Primary School team of educational support staff. The Learning Support Officer (LSO) works within the classroom to support students identified with additional needs. All our LSO's work under the direction of the Learning Diversity Leader. The LSO works collaboratively with the classroom teacher to ensure that students achieve their full potential. The LSO's role is to provide support to enable the students equal access to the curriculum. Ideally, this position is for Monday to Friday (22-25 hours per week). There is room for negotiation with the successful candidate. The successful applicant will: Demonstrate some knowledge of the curriculum and how to support students in their learning. Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team. Demonstrate a passion for learning and instill this in the students. Demonstrate the capacity to work with groups of students to support their Mathematical or Literacy development. Have the capacity to enrich and enhance the development of our school culture. Have some experience in working with students diagnosed with ASD or other diagnosed needs. Be flexible and open to working with students across the year levels. Special Requirements: Applicants must have a commitment to the ethos of Catholic education.
