If so, this is the job for you. Acknowledge Education is in the process of developing our Diploma, Bachelor and Master (pre-registration) of Nursing, and we are looking for a First Nations Registered Nurse with experience in teaching to write our First Nations units and advise on other units, ensuring cultural sensitivity from a First Nation perspective. To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. Key Responsibilities Include: Lecturing, teaching, assessing, and marking Nursing students. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and assessments. Teaching lecture and tutorial classes. Develop the First Nations units for the Diploma, Bachelor, and Master’s level of Nursing courses. Advise on the suitability of other units from a First Nations perspective, ensuring that the courses are culturally appropriate. Assisting in the development of support services and systems for First Nation students, to ensure their successful navigation of their courses. Occasionally coordinate and/or lead the activities of other staff teaching in the same discipline. Engage in teaching evaluations, maintaining professional development and pursuing new teaching methodologies and strategies. Identify and monitor students who are at risk of failing and organize necessary student support efforts for the students. Maintain high professional and ethical conduct, including high standards of self-management, resilience, and collaborative behaviors. About You: Post Graduate qualification in Nursing. 5 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse. Demonstrated lived experience and broader understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and engagement with community. Strong understanding of theory and practice. Excellent presentation and leadership skills. Advantageous But Not Required: Completion or enrolment in a PhD in an area related to Nursing. Relevant tertiary teaching experience. Demonstrated teaching achievements and results. Working with Children's Check. Notes: This is an Identified position in accordance with Section 27(4) of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander lived experience and cultural capability is considered essential and therefore confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage may be requested.
