Applications are invited from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples only Full-time, continuing position based in UniSA Allied Health & Human Performance Unit at the City East campus Salary: $113,892 - $133,388 per annum (plus 17% superannuation) About the Role Reporting to the Dean of Programs (Human Performance), the Lecturer in Aboriginal Health is responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship, research and professional activities of the Allied Health & Human Performance Unit at UniSA. With a primary focus on Aboriginal Health curriculum development and pedagogies, the successful candidate will develop a network of contacts to support and contribute to the development and delivery of these courses.In addition, this role will provide academic counselling and high-quality service and advice to students within the undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs. Core Responsibilities Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses, including investigating and developing alternative teaching methods and the initiation and development of new material Maintain and strive to improve the quality of courses as measured with a variety of evaluation instruments Conduct research and scholarly activity (independently or as a member of a team) which will result in publications in refereed journals and in presenting conference papers at seminars Create, foster and enhance local, national and international links with relevant professional, university and community bodies that assist in the advancement of University and Academic Unit objectives Essential Skills and Experience Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting on the learning of Aboriginal tertiary students from diverse backgrounds and a detailed knowledge of and familiarity with Aboriginal communities Bachelor degree in a Health-related field and relevant industry/discipline experience in Aboriginal culture/health/research Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources High level written and oral communication skills and the capability to use the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery The ability to enhance the research profile of the Academic Unit through collaborative research Benefits Professional Development funding for newly appointed Aboriginal staff Generous superannuation contributions of 17% Flexible working conditions Employee assistance and development programs Staff study support A variety of leave arrangements including four weeks recreation leave per annum, plus additional leave between Christmas and New Year’s Day Culture As a University of Enterprise, we offer a dynamic and agile workplace culture, one that embraces challenges and thrives on breaking new ground.
