The Opportunity Join our talented and collaborative Technology team, where you’ll contribute to cutting-edge research and education in Information & Communications Technology (ICT) and Computer Science (CS). We’re looking for an innovative academic to complement our strengths in data science, human factors, and smart industry design, with opportunities to collaborate across transport, health, sport, and beyond. You'll play a key role in teaching and developing undergraduate and postgraduate courses—whether in AI, IoT, software development, cloud computing, HCI, or computing fundamentals. You will: contribute to learning and teaching practices within the computer science discipline undertake high-impact research; supervise honours students and HDR candidates; play a part in successful research grant applications; and contribute to governance, coordination of and participation in the school capacity-building activities, and activities that contribute to the student experience. About you: Our ideal candidate is an expert in Information & Communications Technology (ICT) or Computer Science (CS), with a passion for innovative and engaging teaching. They excel at creating dynamic, student-centred learning experiences, using effective instructional strategies and designing fair, meaningful assessments that drive strong learning outcomes. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential—staying current through research, workshops, and conferences to uphold the highest standards in teaching and learning. You will possess: completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching; sound and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position; membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice; and evidence of participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.
