The School of Economics and Public Policy invites candidates to apply for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer opportunity to contribute to research and teach courses in areas such as econometrics, macroeconomics, data analysis, and quantitative methods. The successful candidate will work alongside world-class researchers in a collegial environment to support their research and teaching. We are looking for candidates who have a PhD in economics, with a preference for strong quantitative skills in microeconomics, econometrics, or macroeconomics, including environment economics, health economics, labour economics, resource economics, behavioral economics, or development economics. Successful candidates will actively contribute to research and effectively teach quantitative economics courses. Candidates should have a strong research record and demonstrated teaching excellence to carry out or lead research, scholarship, and professional activities. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in published research, teaching, and attract external funding for research. The School welcomes applications from diverse backgrounds. To be successful at Level B we are seeking: PhD in Economics demonstrating strong quantitative skills in applied microeconomics and econometrics or macroeconomics. Demonstrated strong record of research scholarship and teaching within Economics. Excellent record of teaching success for courses in Economics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Demonstrated excellence in delivering quality teaching and curriculum design in face-to-face, online, and mixed-mode teaching. Demonstrated success at motivating and supervising the research of Honours and postgraduate students. Demonstrated track record of publications and successful research grants. Excellent working relations with colleagues, academic community, industry partners, and key stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, including literacy, numeracy, and attention to detail. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ability to contribute to the diversity of the School community. To be successful at Level C we are additionally seeking: Record of publications and other scholarly activity demonstrating leadership and impact in research. Substantial record of success in delivering quality teaching at the tertiary level and impact in scholarship of learning and teaching. Commitment to evidence-based pedagogies that promote student engagement. Desired characteristics: Research interests in applied microeconomics and econometrics or macroeconomics.
