The Level 4 Social Work Team Leader has a recognised clinical specialty and works in an area that requires high levels of clinical expertise and knowledge. They are able to provide clinical services to patients, their families and carers with circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills. The Level 4 Social Work Team Leader is able to demonstrate advanced reasoning skills and operates autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision. They are involved with planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services in a particular specialty and are involved in the implementation of SESLHD protocols, initiatives, policies and procedures. The Level 4 Social Work Team Leader is responsible for the clinical supervision and support of Levels 1, 2 and 3 Social Workers and Social Work students. The Level 4 Social Work Team Leader has a consultative role within their clinical specialty. They may also conduct clinical research and participate in the provision of clinical in-service education programs to staff and students. The Level 4 Social Work Team Leader may assist in operational/supervisory responsibilities under the direction of the Head of Social Work, and may be required to manage specific tasks or projects, particularly in their absence. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW). Extensive post graduate relevant clinical experience. Demonstrated experience in management and team leadership, including experience in staff and student supervision. Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures for service improvement and skills in providing training and education. Well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of quality improvement and service evaluation processes. Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position) and the ability to participate in the After Hours Crisis On-Call service, and work across a seven day roster (including weekends).
