Vacancy Details - Parliament of Western Australia Position Title: Library Administration Officer Level and Salary: Level 3 ($79,156 - $84,977 per annum + 11.5% superannuation) Department: Parliamentary Services Section: Parliamentary Library Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information: Applications are sought for a full time permanent Library Administration Officer. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a dynamic team within WA Parliament to assist clients in carrying out their parliamentary duties. The Parliamentary Library and Information Services Unit functions as a central point in the collection, documentation, coordination and dissemination of multimedia information required by members of Parliament, their staff and the staff of the departments of Parliament. As Library Administration Officer, you will provide support services to the Library and Information Services Unit, primarily through indexing media clips and assisting with the team’s corporate records management responsibilities. You will need a keen eye for detail and the ability to understand how those details operate within the wider landscape, as well as be a proficient user of technology. The ability to work well both independently and as an active member of a team are also required. Selection Criteria The successful applicant must meet the following selection criteria: Essential Experience indexing media or other similar documents, or otherwise categorising information to enable discoverability and accessibility of information over time. Experience working with corporate records and the ability to confidently use an electronic records management system in accordance with the State Records Act 2000. Demonstrated proficiency using a range of contemporary digital technologies. Demonstrated ability to summarise and synthesise information. The ability to meet tight deadlines and follow established processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively use a range of communication platforms, including the telephone. Desirable Qualification in an information management discipline. Broad knowledge of politics and interest in news and current affairs.
