About the position We are seeking a Junior School Library Technician to assist with facilitating a high quality, welcoming, responsive and proactive library service for staff and students within the junior school campus. Assisting the Junior School Library Teacher, this role promotes a positive reading culture, a love of literature and the use of library services by assisting in the selection of resources and activities that support student learning and engagement. Your role will be to enthusiastically engage with primary school-aged children and assist the Library Teacher with the selection of resources for the library. This includes searching for and identifying complex bibliographic materials, and assisting students and teachers to use the cataloguing system and locate resource material. The successful applicant will further liaise with the Junior School Library Teacher to coordinate book clubs, story time, and reading challenges. The role involves operational and administrative duties including but not limited to maintenance of systems, stock and inventory, loaning and returning of resources, cataloguing and the supervision of students in the library. Other duties as directed from time to time. This role is 5-days per week, Monday to Friday (8:30am to 4:30pm). This role is term-time only with non-term time to be taken as unpaid leave.
