80% of billings on offer Locum role in Queensland's largest inland city Family focused practice that works together as a team Receptionists, nurses and doctors all work collaboratively to support one another, which leads to better health outcomes for patients Job Title: Locum General Practitioner – Toowoomba, Queensland.Job Type: Locum - Full-Time.Proposed Locum Period: 10th March 2025 - 5th April 2025.Practice Information: The medical practice is located in Westbrook and is part of a group practice that offers mixed billing. They bulk bill children under 16 and those with a current concession card, and they also bulk bill DVA card holders. The practice offers services for all ages from birth through to the elderly, with a great focus on preventative health.Position Description: Provide evidence of AHPRA Registration. Provide evidence of Medical Indemnity. Provide evidence of Medicare Provider Number. Provide skilled health assessment, diagnosis and treatment services to patients. Order diagnostic tests as needed, checking and informing patients of results as per clinic procedure. Refer patients appropriately to other providers if their needs exceed the range of care you are able to provide. Consult and collaborate with colleagues to provide optimal care. Document all care provided and education/information given to patients within their health record, as per clinic procedure. To maintain good medical practice: Maintain professional knowledge and standards through continuing medical education and personal professional development. Maintain a working knowledge of legislation and standards of General Practice. Practice medicine in a way that reflects the practice’s values. Adhere to infection control and occupational health & safety policy and standards. Provide services courteously and respectfully, with regard to the cultural beliefs and needs of patients. Respond openly and follow up complaints or feedback in a timely manner. Report and document near misses or mistakes in clinical care to the practice manager. During the term of engagement and after it has ceased, you will not use or divulge any information confidential to the Practice, pertaining to either patients or business matters. Collaborate regarding rosters and provide cover to ensure patients’ needs are met. Address staff and patient concerns sensitively and in a timely manner. Develop communication pathways with local allied and ancillary health providers. Carry out all other duties as negotiated. Charge for consultations in line with clinic policy and the Medicare schedule. Declare vested interests in services that you may be referring to. Return phone calls in a timely manner. Complete documents i.e. medical reports in a timely manner. Clear in-tray daily and delegate this task if absent. Demonstrate a working knowledge of practice policy with regard to clinical practice as described in practice manuals. Use the computer effectively i.e. recall systems, data input. Keep up to date with new item numbers. Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with all relevant legislation and common law obligations. Discharge duty of care in the course of practice including meeting practice standards, and accountability. Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedural guidelines that have legal implications, for example, ensure documentation conforms to legal requirements. Identify and respond to unsafe practice, for example, implement interventions to prevent unsafe practice and/or contravention of law. Demonstrate a patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs. Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages and social groups. Be well-presented, friendly, courteous, and obliging, representing the practice in a confident and positive manner at all times. Undertake all duties in a diligent manner, with honesty and integrity. Have a vigilant attitude to accuracy, being prepared to double-check as necessary. Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively and independently, and prioritize and organize with attention to detail. Qualifications & Experience: Fellowed General Practitioner.
