If so, you may be well suited to our role as an EL 1 Logistics Governance Manager within the Minor Vessel Systems Program Office (MVSPO). Noting the naval platforms supported by this role are primarily supported from Northern Australia, the base locations for the successful applicant are either Darwin-NT or Cairns-QLD. The Logistics Governance Manager is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex logistics management work within an integrated workforce across the three regions. They will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. The Logistics Governance Manager will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role. They will exercise sound decision-making and judgement to provide expert policy advice. They will have in-depth knowledge of the Logistics Management function and preferably a sound knowledge of contracts, and contractor management associated with supply chain management in general. They will be responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work within that function. They will engage in complex to very complex problem solving and issue management and may coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that affect strategic, political or operational outcomes for Defence. The Logistics Governance Manager is accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes. They will manage one or more teams. They will develop and implement work plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance, focusing on identifying opportunities for building team capability and continuous improvement. They will set work that aligns with the strategic objectives and communicate expected outcomes. They will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of their work area. About our Team The Minor Vessel Systems Program Office (MVSPO) operates within the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG). MVSPO supports Navy Minor Vessels and Army Amphibious capabilities, and operates from offices in Henderson (WA), Darwin and Cairns. As part of NSSG, MVSPO operates under a Maritime Sustainment Model (MSM), a nationally integrated approach to ensure the significantly larger and more complex fleet that results from continuous naval shipbuilding are effectively sustained.
