About The Role We are seeking an experienced and skilled logistics and asset manager who has marine captaining experience. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing onshore logistics for our Cygnet Bay operation, overseeing asset maintenance and shared captaining our day charter vessel “Ballena” of Broome Tours WA Pty Ltd. This multifaceted role provides flexible hours and numerous responsibilities to ensure operations run smoothly, while still having time on the water to lead and captain “Ballena”. Predominately based out of Broome, the role allows the comfort of returning home in Broome every evening, with some remote based working opportunities to Dampier and the South West region from October and through summer. This is a seasonal role from March to November 2025, with potential summer season extension. Key responsibilities will include: Oversee the logistics and operation of our shore based procedures and operations Effective asset management of a fleet of vehicles, trailers and vessels required for operations Ensure all vessels are maintained in compliance with AMSA Marine Orders and the National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV) Utilise and implement SMS Offshore, maintenance management system for marine assets, maintaining accurate records including logs and reports Sharing Captaining responsibilities aboard our day charter vessel “Ballena” in Broome, providing exceptional guest experiences for sunset cruises, mudcrabbing, whale watching and private charters. Oversee the production and provide support on daily tour plans where required to enhance the guest experience while optimising the use of vessels and crew Provide training, leadership and guidance to crew members, fostering a high performing and motivated team focused on delivering exceptional guest experience and consistent service Management of the company yard, stores, stocktaking and all onshore logistics About You With a true passion for exceptional experiences, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated captaining experience in the marine industry along with sound knowledge of management and maintenance of vehicle and vessel assets. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise and maintain a steady and calm working style during times of pressure along with being able to manage a range of responsibilities, maintenance, staff and job roles simultaneously. You will be required to promote personal presentation standards in step with the hospitality industry, professionalism in all aspects of your work and a solution-focused ‘can-do’ attitude. The successful candidate is required to hold maintenance experience, First Aid & CPR and current Coxswain Grade 1 AMSA recognised qualifications as a Vessel Master (or be willing to obtain). Successful candidates are required to provide a current National Police Clearance.
