Directorate Business, Growth & Community Classification Grade H Salary $94,780 to $109,944 pa + 11.5% employer contribution to superannuation Reporting To CEO Murray Art Museum Albury Employment Type Permanent Full Time The Position The Engagement Manager, under the direction of the CEO MAMA and as a member of the museum’s leadership team, is responsible for audience development, marketing and communications and for designing and delivering public engagement programs across the museum. The position plays an important role in helping MAMA realise its Mission, Vision and Strategic plan. This position is specifically related to expanding the museum’s audience reach and impact. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead public engagement initiatives, including public programs and events, schools and education programs, wellbeing, access and social impact programs. Manage and develop the MAMA brand and visual identity in support of the museum’s mission and objectives. Oversee the marketing and digital activity relating to the museum’s programs and commercial activities. Oversee delivery of visitor experience onsite at the museum incorporating events, tours, resources, and visitor experience staff and volunteer engagement. Build community participation and local audiences through a proactive outreach and partnership program. Promote a cohesive and inclusive working environment through effective supervision of staff and volunteers, including performance management, training and development, and workflow coordination. Contribute to the communication of art and ideas via accessible and inclusive methods. Develop strategies and business plans for key responsibility areas, aligning with the MAMA Strategic Plan. Manage engagement budget, data collection and reporting requirements. Represent MAMA at events, in the community, and in the arts sector as a member of the leadership team. Make business recommendations based on emerging public engagement trends and best practices within the arts sector. Perform other tasks or duties as directed by CEO MAMA which are within the limits of the employee’s skill, competence and training. Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS. This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 35 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor. This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely. This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, including manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical declaration will be required to be completed prior to commencement. This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check. This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing. This position is located within the Murray Art Museum Albury MAMA with occasional visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required. Essential Criteria Tertiary qualifications in art, education, communications, or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience. Experience Demonstrated experience in audience development, education, public engagement or communications within a similar role. Demonstrated experience in the communication of complex ideas in accessible ways. Demonstrated experience in the management of a diverse and multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated commitment to the equitable provision of services to the public and inclusive work practices. Demonstrated appreciation for and understanding of the value of contemporary art to culture.
