We’re seeking an exceptional person to fill the position of Manager, Office of the Chief Executive Operations to ensure the seamless running of the CE’s office and lead a high-performing team. About the role: The Manager, Office of the Chief Executive (OCE) Operations, ensures that the Chief Executive (CE) of the department receives the best possible administrative support from his team. The Manager is responsible for the staffing and budget management of the CE’s office and is directly responsible for the office administration staff who are responsible for managing the Chief Executive’s calendar, coordinating responses for departmental and ministerial correspondence, providing a quality assurance role and coordinating correspondence with the office of the Minister for Education, Training and Skills. The Manager also acts as a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive and plays a pivotal role in the relationship between the Office of the Minister and the Department for Education. About you: Leadership : Ability to lead cross-divisional processes and foster collaborative outcomes. Stakeholder Management : Navigate executive and ministerial relationships with diplomacy. Judgement : Excel in decision-making under pressure, balancing priorities and sensitive information. Advice : Deliver strategic counsel on complex policy and governance matters. Task Management : Ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining quality standards. Communication Skills : Communicate complex ideas clearly in writing and speech. Political Acumen : Navigate public sector dynamics with strategic awareness. Qualifications: Essential: Tertiary qualifications in business administration, management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Desirable: Nil Special conditions: The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN–EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years. For all other Special Conditions please refer to the attached Position Description. Remuneration: MAS3 $127,859 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.
