The research assistant is required to assist with patient enrolment, collection of hemodynamics data, performance of non-invasive hemodynamics studies (after appropriate training and assessment) to support research activity within the laboratory of the Heart Failure Unit. In addition, they are required to ensure data collection is in compliance with the NHMRC Guidelines and International Conference on Harmonisation - Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), Australian regulations and privacy laws. About you: The MCS research assistant will work as part of a team to improve access to research investment for patients and the Institution through high quality research practice and data management. Selection Criteria: Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia. Holds relevant undergraduate medical science/physiology/medical engineering qualifications. Experience in clinical research and demonstration of relevant work experience in a research capacity. Demonstrated ability working in a multidisciplinary team and ability to use own initiative. Demonstrated relevant computer literacy including clinical study database management, basic statistical analysis and programming ability using various engineering software platforms. Demonstrated clinical research experience including experience with secure data management, participant trial data collection, participant organisational skills, ability to rapidly master new concepts and skills and detailed knowledge of HREC and RGO submissions. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
