Fox is searching for a Machining Manager (Wood, MDF & Particle board) to join our dynamic team! The Machining Manager is responsible for leading the machining team to deliver high-quality outputs in an organised, efficient, and safe manner. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional organisational and communication skills to manage daily operations, job flow, stock levels, and machinery maintenance. They will be on the tools whilst managing the team to deliver the output the business requires from this department. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Management Provide leadership, coaching, and support to the machining team. Oversee daily tasks, ensuring smooth job flow and adherence to schedules. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Conduct regular team meetings and communicate priorities clearly. Work closely with the Factory Foreman to ensure quality and timely delivery of machined components. Set up and manage daily operations, including prioritisation of tasks. Ensure stock levels of rips, kicks, packers, and standard components are maintained. Organize trolleys and maintain a clean and tidy work area. Be on the tools, running the machines and leading the team hands on. Manage servicing schedules and address technical issues for all machinery. Liaise with machine technicians to resolve technical challenges. Ensure the dust bin is cleared regularly to maintain a safe working environment. Monitor and maintain high standards of machined output quality. Collaborate with the Factory Foreman to implement quality assurance practices. Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety regulations. Promote safe work practices within the machining area. Operate and oversee the use of the forklift, if licensed. Report daily operations and team performance to the Factory Foreman and Operations Manager. Communicate effectively with other departments to align machining activities with overall production goals. Operational Management Machinery and Maintenance Quality Control Compliance and Safety Reporting and Communication Key Qualifications and Skills Experience: Proven experience in a machining or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Qualifications: Machining apprenticeship qualification is preferred. Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Consistent delivery of high-quality machined components. Efficient job flow management and adherence to production schedules. Maintenance of adequate stock levels and well-organized trolleys. Timely resolution of technical and maintenance issues. Positive team engagement and low turnover rates. Compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in the machining area. This role is based in the factory environment, requiring hands-on engagement with machinery and team members.
