Shape the future of passenger rail transport Opportunities for career growth & development A collaborative and innovative work environment We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance & Test Engineer to join our high performing team, located in Kangy Angy on the Central Coast. About Your Role: Reporting to the Technical Team Lead, your role is to provide technical support and advice to the Maintenance Supply Services and Commissioning portion of the New Inner-City Fleet (NIF) project. This includes: Maintenance Facility Commissioning Facility Train design and construction Key Responsibilities: Safety Promotion: Actively promote safety in the workplace in accordance with the safety management system (SMS). Documentation Preparation and Coordination: Assist in preparation and coordination of all necessary maintenance, test, and commissioning documentation (work instructions, test instructions, task lists, fault finding guides, etc.) for presentation to stakeholders. Complete final test documentation: Ensuring that the finished work has passed all tests in accordance with agreed instructions and test documentation. Technical Support: Provide technical support to operations staff and other technicians regarding maintenance, testing, and planning. Fault Identification and Resolution: Raise any faults, design and/or quality issues identified in maintenance, testing, and commissioning of the New Intercity Fleet train and assist in fault finding and in coordinating a satisfactory solution being actioned. Procedure Development: Write and review procedures, task lists, and processes to support the project. Reporting and Communication: Provide reports and communicate effectively to all levels of UGL Rail in respect to maintenance, testing, and commissioning of Rolling Stock. About You: Trade Qualification: Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical trade qualification or equivalent. Experience: Experience gained in rolling stock maintenance, testing, commissioning, or movement of rolling stock (or equivalent in automotive, defence, avionics, or other safety-critical environment). Independent Work Capability: Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and prioritize assignments, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and professional, responsive, insightful, and decisive decision-making skills. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills (oral and written), including strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally. Teamwork and Learning: Demonstrated ability to work in an integrated team environment and willingness to learn.
