About the Role As the Maintenance Stores Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance stores operations at our Castlemaine site . You will lead a team of two Storemen and a Purchasing Officer , ensuring stock accuracy, timely purchasing, and smooth store operations.This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage stock control, implement process improvements, and support the wider maintenance team . The ability to step in and assist with store functions, including operating a forklift when needed, is highly desirable. Responsibilities Manage maintenance stores operations , ensuring stock is accurate and well-organised. Oversee purchasing functions and liaise with suppliers for parts procurement. Lead, coach, and develop a small team of stores personnel and a Purchasing Officer . Ensure stock levels are maintained and data is accurate in the CMMS system. Conduct regular cycle counts and stocktakes to maintain inventory accuracy. Cover team responsibilities as needed, including purchasing, goods receipting, and forklift operations . Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service levels. Ensure new stock is added accurately as required and parts sent out for repairs are effectively managed. Strong leadership skills , with the ability to manage and develop a small team. Forklift license and experience managing forklift safety (not essential but desirable) . Familiarity with CMMS or inventory management systems . Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The ability to step into store functions when required , including purchasing and receipting.
