Maintenance Technician (Handyperson) - Full Time Be part of our team and Begin an exciting new journey! All of the hotel’s 368 guest rooms – including ten Club Suites, eight Westin Suites, five Executive Suites and one Presidential Suite. More than 2,300 square meters of versatile event space; all equipped with cutting-edge technology, including Grand Ballroom. About the role: The Westin Perth is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our maintenance team. You will perform various maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring all areas are well-maintained and guest-ready. This role requires versatility and a commitment to high standards. Responsibilities: General Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel grounds to ensure everything is in excellent condition. Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled tasks to prevent unexpected breakdowns and maintain the integrity of the hotel's infrastructure. Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimizing disruption to guests and operations. Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain hotel equipment, ensuring it is serviced and functional at all times. Plumbing and Electrical: Troubleshoot and maintain plumbing and electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety. Pool Maintenance: Regularly clean and maintain the pool area, ensuring it remains a safe and pleasant environment for guests. Locks and A/C Filters: Repair and replace locks as needed, and regularly check and replace air conditioning filters. Painting and Furniture Moving: Apply paint to various surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish, and assist with the relocation and arrangement of furniture for events. Daily Reports: Prepare and submit maintenance reports, documenting completed tasks and identifying areas needing attention. Safety and Collaboration: Follow safety protocols, use personal protective equipment when necessary, and collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues. Digital Management: Utilize digital maintenance management systems to track requests, generate reports, and streamline workflows. Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in general building maintenance, including plumbing and electrical systems. Experience with hand power tools and traditional maintenance methods. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Attention to detail and pride in workmanship, ensuring high standards in all tasks. Computer literacy and proficiency with mobile applications for maintenance management. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, contributing positively to a collaborative work environment. Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is preferred. You will also have Full Time Australian Working rights.
