This role reports directly to the Head of Major Project Delivery, overseeing the entire lifecycle of major capital projects for the Council. You will be responsible for project initiation, the development of consultant and design briefs, and ensuring projects are completed on time. Your focus will be on maintaining the highest standards of quality, effectiveness, and accountability throughout each project's delivery. Key Responsibilities Management of project feasibility and delivery, including project formulation (scope, planning, budgeting and programming), the development of consultant and design briefs, management of subsequent engagements and as necessary, conflict and issue resolution. Bring together diverse teams of staff, consultants and contractors to deliver projects in a coordinated, responsible and inclusive manner, ensuring that all environmental, commercial, and legal requirements of projects are managed efficiently and effectively. Exemplify outstanding people leadership by fostering effective communication with staff and key stakeholders, positively influencing pivotal decisions, serving as a dedicated coach and mentor, strategically planning to meet both current and future needs of staff and Council, embodying the Council's values as a role model, and cultivating trust among team members and key stakeholders. About you To be successful in this role you will have the following: Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Architecture, Engineering or a relevant discipline with further formal qualifications in the field of expertise or in management and more than 4 years significant and diverse experience in both operational areas and leadership. Substantial experience in the delivery and management of major capital projects, including feasibility, pre-planning and design. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance, and direction in project management across a medium/large size organisation. Experience in conducting large-scale community engagement initiatives and programs. Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle.
