Services for Children and Families (SCF) is launching a new After-Hours Service that is responsive to the needs of our children and young people in care by building safety, resolving issues, and preventing escalation outside of business hours. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an innovative service that will improve outcomes for children and young people in Tasmania. Duties Within this context, the Manager of the After-hours Service will provide governance, practice leadership, and operational management to the statewide service, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of service outside of normal business hours. The role will operate within the statutory framework for all client-facing program areas of Services for Children and Families. The After-hours Service staff and its key service partners are positioned across the State; as a result, some statewide travel will be required. Hours per fortnight 76 hours per fortnight Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status – Employment) The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted: Conviction checks in the following areas: crimes of violence sex related offences serious drug offences crimes involving dishonesty serious traffic offences Disciplinary actions in previous employment check A tertiary qualification (AQF Level 7 qualification) or higher, approved by the professional body responsible for accrediting programs of study for the profession in Australia and eligibility for membership, or full membership with, the professional association is required.
