Financial Crime Operations (FCO) is a team of 2000 Operations Professionals, part of the Financial Crime Services (FCS) team in Chief Operations Office (COO). The team is accountable for the development, implementation, and ongoing leadership of the Group’s financial crime operations shared service. Financial Crime Operations leads the Group’s approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Sanctions risks and obligations through the provision of the following operational services: AML, CTF, KYC, Sanctions, ECDD, etc. You will be part of the Financial Crime Operations team with a focus on ensuring strong operational cadences with a strong quality and compliance focus on outcomes with efficiency in the way that we disrupt financial crime. Financial Crime Operations footprint spans Australia, India, and New Zealand. DO WORK THAT MATTERS As a Manager Financial Crime, you will support the AML/CTF Operations function by providing oversight in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment to enable the group to effectively and efficiently manage its financial crime risks in relation to the Group's High Risk Customers. This includes oversight of forecasting volumes and FTE as well as the daily management of AML/CTF operational teams and their regulatory obligations, risk issues, remediation plans, and overall quality of performance to drive a culture of continuous improvement. As a leader, you are expected to role model the group’s values and people capabilities. You will proactively take appropriate action where performance is not in line with the business’ expectations. You will also contribute to the Group’s goal of NPS+30 in 3 years and will play an important role in protecting our community. Your approach to prudential risk management when identifying and responding to business risks, as well as identifying opportunities to improve processes within your team/work stream, will be vital in the Group’s relentless pursuit of the elimination of financial crime. RESPONSIBILITIES You will ensure coaching sessions with each of your direct reports are completed, including development planning and performance discussions. You will drive a high standard of the team's capability uplift relating directly to AML/CTF processes, including train-the-trainer sessions or staff awareness training. You will champion a Continuous Improvement culture within the team, consistently looking for new opportunities to further optimize and streamline existing processes. You will be responsible for driving and overseeing the day-to-day management and oversight of volumes, rosters, systems, and workflow. You will apply performance management techniques and protocols when performance/behaviors are not in line with expectations or values. You will be responsible for reviewing all quality issues/rework that arise, effectively drawing out themes and building spotlight sessions and action plans to improve results and ensure plans are documented to be within tolerance levels. You will be open to change and deliver process changes while following Change and Governance rules. You will play an active role ensuring the forecasting team is aware of volume drivers that may affect supply vs demand. Adhere to the Code of Conduct, which sets the standards of behavior, actions, and decisions we expect from our people. On any given day you will Approach a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance. Identify the major forces, events, and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand. Use flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns. Use logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions. Make a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions. Investigate and provide solutions to different types of money laundering activities in numerous situations. Oversee anti-money laundering processes, practices, and procedures. Track monetary activities and apply the Bank Secrecy Act on all anti-money laundering projects. Direct the implementation of anti-money laundering software for data collection and analysis. Coordinate internal and external money laundering investigation activities. Advise on raising public awareness of anti-money laundering policies and regulatory rules. Use various media appropriately and effectively. Analyze audiences to understand their composition and perspectives. Balance the use of visual and verbal elements to maximize interest and impact. Confirm understanding by restating others' positions. Adapt listening and facilitation styles to others' communication styles. We’re interested in hearing from people who have Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment required. Two or more years' experience in people leadership and management preferred. Two or more years' experience in a financial crime, regulatory, or law enforcement operations role preferred. Experience in working with data, reporting, and analytics to make informed decisions preferred. Completion of tertiary education preferred.
