Location: Liverpool Full-time, x1 ongoing and x2 temporary opportunities Grade 9 - $125,693 - $129,228 p.a. + superannuation and annual leave loading Your role Our After Hours Response Team (AHRT) situated within the Child Protection helpline are looking for committed, compassionate, courageous and resilient leaders with a passion to empower people to improve the lives of children and families in NSW. AHRT provides a range of After Hours services working in partnership with parents and carers, extended family members, services to meet the immediate safety needs of children and young people. The AHRT works with regional on call teams to provide an after-hours child protection response across NSW, from 4.30pm to 6am on Monday to Friday and 24 hours on weekends and public holidays. The Manager Casework role is all-embracing and it requires you to have a mix of knowledge, skills and values that will enable you to empower, mentor and provide strategic direction to a team of Caseworkers. What you’ll do Prioritise after hour responses and resource allocations for Caseworkers. Nurture high quality work encouraging a culture of best practice methods amongst staff to improve the life experiences of vulnerable children, young people, and families at risk. Practise effective group supervision, leadership and individual casework coaching and feedback. Ensure client record compliance through effective review and feedback mechanisms; preparation and review input to legal documentation, briefings and correspondence ensuring responses are accurate. Engage in ongoing professional development and collaboration across the agency and with community partners. Contribute to operational and policy issues and change management strategies which support the agency goals and objectives. Consult with management on a suitable course of action in matters that are sensitive, high-risk or business-critical. What we’re looking for Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Welfare or a related discipline. Extensive experience in applying best practice casework with children, young people and their families. Experience leading and managing teams in complex and challenging situations. A demonstrated understanding of trauma informed care and the impact poverty, trauma and violence has on children and their families. Current driver’s licence as occasional travel will be required.
