This Ad is for 2 Manager Roles within the Clinical Advisory Planning Area About the role: Are you: A high performing individual with strong leadership and communication skills. Do you have current knowledge of the health system and hospital environments? Do you have experience in project management and/or health infrastructure? Victoria is experiencing significant growth in population, and demand for increased health services. To support this need, a substantial number of health infrastructure projects are in planning, development, and delivery. The Department requires an expert team to provide clinical advice to inform health infrastructure projects to ensure the hospitals we build in Victoria are functional, operationally affordable and support clinical and patient's needs. The Manager, Clinical Advisory will be a key advisor, providing comprehensive and accurate advice in the delivery of health infrastructure and the clinical drivers of Capital Planning. The role sits within the Department of Health and provides advice and direction to the health delivery agency (Victorian Health Building Authority). The position will lead, support and develop a team of advisors who can coordinate and develop key inputs into the clinical requirements needed for capital infrastructure. A key aspect of this role is working in partnership with Health Services. As a subject matter expert, a strong knowledge of the Victorian health care system and an understanding of the health care environment would be desirable. An understanding of health infrastructure and project management experience would be highly beneficial. Strong and engaging interpersonal and stakeholder management skills will be a key to success in the role. How you'll make a difference: Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate: Role Accountability Leadership Lead specialised design project team, comprising VPS staff, contractors and external consultants to collate and provide expert, strategic advice, negotiate and liaise with stakeholders and service providers on a range of complex project design issues. Overseeing the development of key planning documentation, while working in partnership with Health Services and health delivery agency. Ensuring innovation and emerging trends in health care delivery are included in future planning. Project Management - Utilising Project Management skills that translate technical specifications and information into actionable briefs, plans and reports to key stakeholders, senior leadership, and project team members. Communication Providing expert advice to health delivery agency on capital planning deliverables and any clinical planning issues with a key focus on design, planning and stakeholder engagement. Build strong working relationships and competently negotiate using formal and informal channels of communication, with stakeholders and external institutions including branch team member, consultants, wider department, and the delivery agency to ensure work is prioritised and delivered on time and to appropriate, quality standards. Demonstrate in all your interactions a collaborative, can-do and professional manner that can deftly work across multiple and competing commitments. Planning and Organising - Sets clearly defined objectives and priorities and operates accordingly, reviewing and adjusting as required; Identifies processes, tasks and resources required to achieve a goal; Establishes systems and procedures to guide work and track progress; Recognises actual and potential barriers and finds effective ways to deal with them. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Qualifications - Tertiary (Bachelor or higher) qualification in Health, Design, Project Management or related discipline and/or extensive experience within similar project delivery environments. Experience related to health, clinical delivery, capital planning, project management, health planning or health administration, would be highly desirable. Experience in health infrastructure an advantage.
