Job Description

Manager, Cloud, Infrastructure & Operations This role reports to the Head of IT and has responsibility for a team of 2 staff as well as Managed Service Providers. The organisation has been through a Cloud implementation journey and absolutely requires someone with current cloud expertise to optimise their cloud environment, ensure high availability, scalability and security. This is a non-hierarchical environment with a focus on collaboration. They have worked hard to build an IT team that is approachable and requires someone who is calm, has strong emotional intelligence and the ability to assess and respond with care and thoughtfulness. This role is very technical and requires you to be hands-on approximately 80% of your time. Some of the key deliverables of this role include: Oversee Microsoft 365 Administration & Collaboration including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Power Platform. Oversee and optimise Azure environments, ensuring security, scalability, and performance across Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and PaaS Services. Manage and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments for remote desktop users. Drive cloud adoption strategies, ensuring the organisation leverages best-in-class cloud solutions while maintaining operational stability. Manage Endpoint and Intune Device Management. Collaborate with SOC providers to ensure proactive cloud security monitoring and incident response. Implement a Security Framework. Harden cloud infrastructure security, leveraging tools such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel and Azure Security Center. Act as the primary point of contact for managed service providers (SOC, Helpdesk, Network) ensuring efficient service delivery. The background and experience we are seeking: Multiple years ICT Operations and Infrastructure Management experience. Current cloud infrastructure management and optimisation expertise. Strong understanding of IT governance, compliance and security best practices. Knowledge of cloud cost management and budgeting for scalable IT operations. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experienced managing IT service providers, contracts and SLA's. Proven experience managing IT teams and mentoring junior staff. Technical expertise: Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and hybrid cloud solutions. Azure Virtual Desktop management and optimisation. Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration. Hands-on experience with Azure AD, Conditional Access and Identity Management. Proficiency in Networking concepts (VPN, firewalls, VLAN's, SD-WAN). Experience working with SOC and SIEM solutions. Hands-on experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep or PowerShell.
