Position Title: Manager Community Strengthening Applications Close: Monday, March 3, 2025 - 5:00 pm Warrnambool City Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager of Community Strengthening to lead the delivery of key community health and wellbeing services, including Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Planning, community care (aged), youth services, volunteer connect, and health and wellbeing programs. This role is also responsible for managing the facilities that support these services. The Manager will provide leadership and direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to the local community, while effectively managing operations in alignment with relevant policies, available budgets, and contemporary human resource practices. The position will also oversee compliance with external funding and service agreements. A key component of the role is the development, implementation, review, and reporting of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan. In addition, the Manager will conduct research and analysis on government reforms, policies, and public social data, advising Council on their impact. The role involves advocating for appropriate services, funding, and infrastructure, and contributing to the development and monitoring of organizational goals and objectives. As a strategic leader, the Manager will provide timely advice and support to the Director of City Wellbeing, preparing reports, recommendations, and correspondence. Collaboration with local community groups, Council departments, and external agencies is essential to coordinating and advocating for community health, wellbeing, and development initiatives.
