The Essential Services Commission (Commission) is looking for a compliance professional to join our Regulatory, Monitoring and Evaluation group in the position of Manager, Compliance Operations. About the role Reporting to the Director, Compliance and Enforcement, the Manager, Compliance Operations is responsible for providing expertise in compliance functions across the industries regulated by the Commission. This includes a range of activities to ensure the effectiveness and integrity of the Commission’s compliance, investigation and assessment programs. Specifically, this role is responsible for taking an active role in assessing, identifying and coordinating issues related to non-compliance, or potential non-compliance from regulated entities. Developing and implementing strategies to facilitate achievement of compliance and leading the Compliance and Investigations team in their duties are also core requirements of this role. To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in conducting compliance investigations, continuously improving compliance programs and proven ability to interpret and apply legislation and regulatory instruments. You will have demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and the ability to prepare high-quality written documents. Leadership experience is also required for this role. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as law, business, commerce or Government investigations would be highly regarded for this position. About the Commission The Commission adds long-term value to the South Australian community by meeting its objective through independent, ethical and expert regulatory decisions and advice. We are a statutory authority established as an independent economic regulator and advisory body to protect the long-term interests of South Australian consumers with respect to the price, quality and reliability of essential services. Our role incorporates licensing, consumer protection, service standards, pricing, monitoring, compliance and public reporting in the water, electricity and gas industries, and access regulation of essential ports and rail infrastructure. We also provide advice and conduct inquiries to inform the South Australian Government on economic and regulatory policy issues, and provide advice to local government.
