About the role The Integrated Remote Operations team at Roy Hill is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of production activities across our mine, rail, and port systems. Operating from our state-of-the-art Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Perth, we integrate business systems, processes, and technology to maximise efficiency and productivity. We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Manager Control to join our integrated Remote Operations team. Reporting to the General Manager Integrated Remote Operations , the role manages the Control functions of Dewatering, Autonomous Drills, Ancillary, Utilities, Load and Haul (conventional and Autonomous Haulage), Crushing, Plant, Mobile Plants, Train Loading, Rail (including Train Control), Port and Harbor interactions as part of the end-to-end Integrated Remote Operations department. The position will require regular travel to our Mine operations to build stakeholder relationships as well as an ability to work on call and or to work after hours or on weekends if issues require escalation. Duties Create a safe workplace and develop leaders in your team to continuously improve the safety outcomes for Control Operations Oversee a diverse 24/7 team of controllers responsible for remotely operating Pilbara located assets Monitor and improve the quality of departmental, team and individual performance Ensuring critical controls are in place for the identified risks within the Control Room Lead, coach, and mentor team members to deliver on production and quality requirements Assist in the design, development & implementation of control systems including alarm rationalisation, automation, SCADA and vendor enhancements Coordinate the development, implementation and updating of control standards, procedures, and work instructions, consistent with required frameworks Participate in the development of budget and business plans Skills and experience Previous experience in an operational leadership role supported by relevant tertiary qualifications A forward-thinking leadership style with a focus on safety, inclusion, and diversity Previous experience in leading and mentoring diverse teams A genuine desire to nurture positive relationships through effective communication and open consultation Solution-focused with the ability to work well under pressure An agile thinker with the ability to collaborate with others to achieve results The ability to work effectively with others and provide constructive feedback where appropriate Perth ROC Facilities Free on-site parking at remote operational centre (ROC) Modern spacious office with break-out facilities In-house café providing variety of hot & cold food options and barista coffee Flexi Leave available to all Perth based office staff Flexible working hours outside of core business hours Active social club with community events and activities for employees Lifestyle, Learning and Recreation initiative which provide events for your family About the Company Roy Hill is a world class mining company, leading the way through innovative, integrated mining rail and port operations, to export iron ore safely and efficiently from West Australia’s Pilbara region.
