Public Sector CSA Agreement 2024 - Level 7 - $134,481 - $143,736 This position is a fixed term full-time opportunity for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency. About the Role The advertised role operates within the Digital and Campaigns Branch of DFES, which is responsible for managing an extensive range of digital communication projects and platforms, as well as public safety and recruitment campaigns. This includes strategic digital projects such as the department’s annual bushfire awareness campaign and recruitment campaigns, as well as developing content, engagement and moderation across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn, including during incidents. You will manage the delivery of strategic campaigns and digital communication projects for DFES. This includes developing the department’s digital communications policies, procedures, guidelines, strategy and frameworks. You will advise senior management and DFES staff on digital and social media opportunities and manage contracts for external suppliers. You will also be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring all paid external communication campaigns to promote awareness of the Department and its objectives. Another key part of your role will be to manage staff performance, including fostering a creative team environment that develops fresh, new solutions to complex issues. What you’ll need: Experience in managing strategic communications projects and initiatives (ideally within a digital/social media environment). Experience in developing and implementing communications campaigns. Excellent communication skills including the ability to negotiate. The ability to think creatively and solve problems. Experience in managing teams. A tertiary qualification in social media, communications, media or journalism is highly advantageous but is not an essential requirement. Employment Conditions and Additional Information DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies. This role is required to go on a roster that will require regular office work outside normal business hours and on weekends and public holidays. This role is required to work during significant emergency incidents that could require longer hours beyond normal business hours, usually in the State Operations Centre.
