About the Role: Cyber Security NSW is looking for a “Manager, Emergency Response” to join the Cyber Capability Defence & Capability Directorate in Sydney. We are looking for candidates with strong organisational skills who have experience providing technical coordination, administrative support, strategic and reporting assistance across a range of business functions. Key Accountabilities: Support the NSW Chief Cyber Security Officer, Cyber Security NSW Director of Cyber Defence and Capability and the State Emergency Operations Controller/Management Centre in managing and leading the NSW Government during a significant cyber incident or crisis. Lead and participate in cyber incident and emergency operations reviews, debriefs, coordination forums and operational exercises to meet established communication and coordination standards and requirements. Ensure NSW Government agencies’ cyber incident response plans align with the NSW State Cyber Emergency Management Plan and national response protocols for a significant cyber incident and crisis. Ensure Cyber Security NSW has appropriate plans, playbooks and established communication channels to respond and provide support to NSW Government agencies impacted by a significant cyber incident or crisis. Represent the Cyber Security NSW on the State Emergency Management Committees and contribute to the development of state-wide emergency management policy, planning and practice to minimise service interruptions. Represent the NSW Government in cross-agency, cross-sector, and cross-jurisdictional cyber emergency management planning and exercise activities to ensure delivery of business objectives. Facilitate strong working relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) to support collaboration, the exchange of information and issues management, and to build on existing relationships, influence outcomes and support informed decision-making. Provide high level advice and guidance to NSW Government agencies to assist them in identifying opportunities for improving service efficiency and effectiveness to cyber emergency management frameworks. About Cyber Security NSW Branch: The Cyber Security NSW is a whole-of-government function located within Digital.NSW in the Department of Customer Service. We are responsible for ensuring a cyber safe NSW. The protection of our systems and digital information is vital because of the many essential services NSW Government provides including health, emergency services, and transport. Furthermore, the exciting digital transformation being undertaken across NSW Government requires similarly enhanced cybersecurity capabilities. At the centre of this exciting and growing cyber capability, Cyber Security NSW is working across NSW Government to: Create a whole-of-government integrated approach to managing cyber risk and responding to cyber security threats. Increase cyber skills and awareness. Understand the risks from cyber threats to our digital information and systems. Set cyber security standards. Ensure we are prepared if a damaging cyber incident occurs. About You (Essential Requirements of the Role): To be successful in the role you will: Stay informed about the constantly changing NSW cyber security landscape, including emerging threats, vulnerabilities and governmental policies. This involves continuous monitoring and analysis to effectively safeguard information, assets and services against potential breaches and disruptions. Deliver comprehensive oversight and strategic value in cyber security endeavors within an all-of-Government framework, while also enhancing collaboration, coordination and synergy among NSW Government agencies to bolster cyber resilience and response capabilities. Balance competing priorities and deliverables, ensuring timely completion of tasks while maintaining quality outputs amidst competing commitments and promptly responding to emerging challenges. Demonstrate ability to liaise with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in state and federal cyber security policies and frameworks. Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline; or equivalent relevant industry experience. An Australian Citizen including the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 National Security Clearance and undergo a police check.
