Join our team to help deliver this important work to ensure the information privacy rights of Queenslanders are protected now and into the future. The Manager, Privacy and RTI, will report directly to the Chief Legal Counsel, Legal Services Unit, Corporate Services. The Information Privacy and Right to Information team is a new team being developed to partner with business areas to deliver and support information privacy compliance across the department. About the role As the Manager, Privacy and RTI, you will: Provide high-level advice and recommendations on privacy issues relating to DTET as a subject matter expert in the field. Provide leadership and management of the DTET privacy team. Prepare, research, develop and implement DTET policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Liaise and work collaboratively with other business groups in DTET to conduct Privacy Impact Assessments, identify and address privacy risk and mitigation strategies. Develop and deliver privacy training to DTET Staff. Work collaboratively with the DTET legal function on privacy related matters. What we are looking for The position requires an applicant who: Has in-depth knowledge of the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) and Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and general knowledge of the Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld). Has demonstrated experience in drafting and communicating complex frameworks, policies, procedures, and decisions. Has the ability to communicate the application of complex privacy principles in simple terms, including developing and delivering training. Has experience in dealing with privacy-based risk and developing mitigating processes. Has strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders and work with others using a consultative approach. Has experience in leading privacy programs and a team of privacy practitioners. Leads strategically - Thinks critically and acts on the broader purpose of the system. Makes insightful decisions - Makes considered, ethical and courageous decisions based on insight into the broader context. Builds enduring relationships - Builds and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focussed outcomes. Drives accountability and outcomes - Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence, and transparency. Demonstrated sound governance - Maintains a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
