Add expected salary to your profile for insights Position: Manager Engineering The Manager Engineering is responsible for the management of specialist design and engineering services across the Agency. The incumbent will lead the coordination of technical engineering input into the design concepts relating to the facilities and waste disposal solutions. The Manager Engineering will collaborate with leaders to develop and implement long-term strategies aligned to ARWA’s technical program of work, while concurrently developing capability within ARWA to ensure continued growth. I am proud to work for the Australian Radioactive Waste Agency and be involved in the program to dispose of Australia’s radioactive waste. This is a significant long-term infrastructure project, and the role provides me an opportunity to collaborate with different national and international experts from a wide range of fields and to learn and apply innovative thinking and solutions to support program delivery - Steven. Key Duties Lead and strategically coordinate engineering advice and matters. Accountable for the coordination of engineering input and deliverables from technical teams and external consultants. Conduct research including initial cost modelling and disposal options analysis to identify strategic indicators to inform the development of disposal pathways. Review engineering information and concepts to incorporate waste management, safety, and environmental considerations into the design. Eligibility To be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, applicants must: Be an Australian citizen or going to be granted Australian Citizenship before commencement. You may be asked to provide evidence of this. Undertake a pre-employment security assessment and subsequent security clearance. This role requires a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance; however, some roles may require a higher-level security clearance. If you are offered a role and do not have a current security clearance, we will work with you to arrange for this to be undertaken.
