Manager Environment and Sustainability Policy and Planning TRP from $222,304pa (base from $195,807pa) 5 weeks annual leave Hybrid, flexible working environment, including some work from home days. Reporting directly to our General Manager Planning, we will look to you to lead the integral function of Environment and Sustainability Policy and Planning . Leading a team of 20+ direct and indirect reports, your team will be split into 3 key focus areas: Sustainability Planning Biodiversity Planning This is such an exciting time to come on board and drive the strategic direction of City of Moreton Bay's environmental and sustainability policy, programs and systems to ensure sustainability of our operations and natural environment. We are in the process of finalising a Net Zero Plan that will be key to achieving our ambitious target of achieving net zero emissions for Council operations by 2039 ... and this role will be the driving force to partner with the greater organisation to successfully implement. You will also oversee the land buy back for environmental purposes program , from identification through to acquisition, as we strive to maintain the current extent of 42% native vegetation cover in the region whilst accommodating population growth... and increasing this cover over time. We are seeking an experienced leader in environment and planning... excited to take on this challenge and make an impact! Sound like you? You will bring a strong technical understanding and knowledge of land use planning and environmental policy , ideally in a Local Government context. We will also look for you to demonstrate your proven track record in: Leadership: managing and driving high team performance in a complex environment. Stakeholder engagement: a consultative approach to gain understanding of the competing priorities and ability to influence outcomes and elicit trust.
