Exciting leadership opportunity in our Experience Melbourne team This is a temporary full-time opportunity (38 hours per week) – 13-month contract. $118,141 – $132,962 (dependant on skills & experience) + 11.5% Superannuation This opportunity is reserved for current City of Melbourne employees. About the Role We are currently looking for an Event Operations Manager to join our exciting Experience Melbourne branch! The Manager (Event Operations) is a key leader within the Experience Melbourne Branch, tasked with overseeing a team of Coordinators responsible for facilitating permit approvals for events of all sizes in public open spaces. This role not only manages the approval process for small, medium, and large-scale events but also supports the broader Event Operations Team by continuously refining the operational processes and procedures that are fundamental to permitting events and activations. The ideal candidate will engage with both internal and external stakeholders at a specialist level and can build strong relationships to ensure effective consultation on projects. This collaboration aims to streamline the team's workflow and enhance the overall customer experience, ensuring that all events are executed smoothly and efficiently. What you will bring to City of Melbourne Demonstrated experience in leading a team to achieve high performance outcomes with coaching skills to develop team capabilities, team cohesion and the ability to effectively manage conflict and under performance. Demonstrated ability to interpret relevant legislation, regulations, guidelines and local laws related to major events and effectively apply as required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to pro-actively drive change and continual improvement. Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders with a broad range of competing expectations.
