Job Description As the Manager – Events & Entertainment, you will play a vital role in planning, organising, and delivering a wide range of events that exceed client and patron expectations. You’ll lead the charge in managing Melbourne Royal’s annual calendar of events, including the iconic Melbourne Royal Show, while ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Aid with the execution, planning, negotiating and booking of entertainment. Aid the creation of content and activations for the Melbourne Royal Show. Oversee, book and manage the community groups program. Manage the design, production and presentation of designated areas or precincts. Prepare and adhere to precinct budgets. Manage a suite of Melbourne Royal Show official functions. Manage other official Melbourne Royal Show media events including the Melbourne Royal Show launch and Melbourne Royal Show Showbag launch. End to end planning and delivery ofevents such as the Australian International Beer Awards, Distilled Spirits Awards, Food Awards, and Wine Awards. Manage event budgets, logistics, catering, AV, guest speakers, and seating plans. Collaborate with Marketing and Sponsorship teams to ensure successful promotion and sponsor engagement. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders. Conduct post-event debriefs to drive continuous improvement. External Clients: Plan and execute external client events in collaboration with internal teams. Support creative event planning for client requirements. Desired Skills and Experience To excel in this role, you will have: Proven success in a fast-paced, multi-purpose venue or events environment. Strong experience in end-to-end event planning and delivery. Budgeting and project management skills. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities. Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills to build collaborative relationships. A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (knowledge of Ungerboeck software is a plus). What We’re Looking For A highly motivated and detail-oriented professional who thrives under pressure.
