The challenge of shaping the future of health and safety on Victoria's largest infrastructure project, by executing on MRPV's Safety Strategy's vision to ‘leave the industry in a better place than we found it' . The Manager, Health & Safety will be responsible for managing a high performing team and promoting a safe work culture and the coordination of all health and safety aspects of activities undertaken by project staff and contractors during all phases of the project lifecycle. The primary objective of this role is to monitor and oversee safety systems development, implementation and auditing, relationship management, specialised training and providing sound advice in accordance with legislative requirements, policies, and procedures.It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all our site offices. Join us in building better connections for Victoria by: Leading a high performing team responsible for the safety aspects related to the project and ensuring successful outcomes are achieved in the areas of specified scope, time and budget. Overseeing the ongoing development and implementation of best practice safety management procedures and ensure that safety aspects are included within all management procedures. Overseeing the implementation and management of appropriate auditing processes via safety management plans, processes and practices across all relevant agencies/contractors. Leading the strategic development of contemporary risk management initiatives including safety analysis and trend monitoring capabilities to identify key risks to project delivery. Implement solutions aimed to reduce administrative burdens and improve efficiency across major projects. About You The role requires highly developed people management skills, communication, and organisational skills, paired with strong business acumen and ability to apply sound decision making and early risk identification and mitigation. You are: Highly experienced in the Safety industry with experience in auditing and managing safety requirements on major engineering and/or high-risk construction projects. A strong leader with high interpersonal acumen with an aptitude for guiding and motivating a team in a deadline driven environment. An individual with exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build, maintain and influence strong and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders within and external to the organisation.
