The Manager, Library Network is a dynamic and impactful opportunity to shape the future of TAFE Queensland Library Network by developing innovative strategies that enhance resource accessibility and support academic success. This position reports to Director, Library Network. This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity. The position location is negotiable at any TAFE Queensland campus across South-East Queensland. However, some travel may be required across other TAFE Queensland campuses. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of effective access to innovative physical library spaces, resources that supplement and support training delivery, virtual library services across TAFE Queensland to assist educators and students to meet their vocational objectives and enhance their ability to succeed in their studies. Contribute to the development of library strategy, policy and procedures with the Director, Library Network, that ensures compliance with the regulatory and legislative environment. Contribute to the development of business plans and manage the maintenance of the business plans. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead the implementation of administrative processes and systems in relation to library and information services and resources across all TAFE Queensland regions. Develop an effective and collaborative Library Network leadership team who are focused, innovative and adaptive to change. Drive Library Network performance by setting clear, measurable goals that align with TAFE Queensland’s vision and strategic objectives delivering an innovative academic library service. Develop and implement business plans to drive continuous improvement while ensuring adherence to TAFE Queensland’s policies and procedures. Provide strong leadership to inspire and guide the team towards achieving these goals. Monitor and manage the expenditure of staffing, learning resources, and consumable approved budgets to ensure a sound return on investment and improve operational efficiency. Conduct budget forecasting to anticipate future financial needs and align spending with strategic goals. Provide direction and strategic advice to the Director, Library Network on matters pertaining to the library and information services, including advice on improving Library Network business systems and practices that bring about operational improvements. Lead engagement with TAFE Queensland stakeholders and leaders to build strong relationships to develop and strengthen business and educational team relationships to advance the success of Library Network. How you will be assessed The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: Proven leadership experience of a Library Service that delivers future focused library support. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop the Library Network team in the delivery of an academic library service that allows for initiative approaches in resolving day-to-day issues leading to an innovative academic library. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including proven ability to interact positively and effectively, with all stakeholders. Demonstrated high level organisational, analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to plan and manage numerous activities, with a strong focus on mitigating risks, actioning issues, achieving milestones and creating positive outcomes. Well-developed team leadership skills, including the ability to set objectives and manage performance, motivate, develop and coach staff, as well as lead staff through change. Highly Desirable Requirements Possession of a tertiary qualification in Library or Information Studies which allows eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association. Extensive experience in strategic library management, preferably in an educational setting. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning which has led to client support excellence. Skills and experience in managing a team of professional staff in a dynamic and changing environment.
