The Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH) at James Cook University (JCU) is seeking an exceptional individual to lead our operations in Mount Isa, Queensland. ABOUT THE ROLE As the Manager of MCRRH Operations, you will play a crucial role in driving our mission to improve healthcare access and delivery in rural and remote areas. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the center, managing resources, and ensuring the smooth coordination of various programs and initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee and streamline the center's daily operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation, adherence to policies and procedures, and timely completion of tasks and projects. Program Coordination: Collaborate with the MCRRH team to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that address the unique healthcare needs of rural and remote communities. Foster partnerships with local stakeholders and community organizations. Team Leadership: Provide strategic direction and mentorship to the MCRRH team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Encourage professional development and growth opportunities. Financial Management: Manage the center's budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure fiscal responsibility while maximizing resource utilization. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, Indigenous communities, and academic institutions, to promote collaboration and advance shared goals. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE To excel in this role, you will possess: Postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as public health, healthcare administration, finance or operations. Proven experience in project management, operations, or healthcare administration, preferably in a rural or remote setting. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Demonstrated commitment to promoting equitable access to healthcare and addressing the unique challenges faced by rural and remote communities. ABOUT THE MURTUPUNI CENTRE FOR RURAL AND REMOTE HEALTH The Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MCRRH) is a federally funded nationally networked University Department of Rural Health with additional funded vertical programs and key performance indicators set by the Department of Health specifically focused on health workforce. Located in Mount Isa with nodes in Cloncurry and Longreach, MCRRH serves the large geographic region of outback northern Queensland. As a small academic department with a broad range of responsibilities within the rural and remote health and education sector, our mission is to lead excellence in remote, rural and Indigenous health in outback Queensland.
