About the role… The City of Unley is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager to lead talented Planning and Development teams working to shape a more connected, progressive and resilient City of Unley. What you will do… Lead and Manage: Oversee the Planning and Development Business Unit, including Development Assessment, Building, and Environmental Health, aligning operations with Council's strategic and corporate goals. Deliver Impactful Services: Facilitate sound planning, building and public health compliance to meet community needs and expectations. Promote Economic Growth: Adopt a business concierge model to streamline processes and provide a development-friendly service experience, fostering economic growth. Provide Expert Advice: Serve as a trusted advisor to Council, the organisation, and the community on planning, design, development, and compliance matters. Ensure Compliance: Fulfill the functions of Council's Assessment Manager under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure (PDI) Act 2016. Champion Customer-Centric Services: Align services with the Customer First corporate framework, ensuring ease of engagement with Council. Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience or relevant qualifications in planning, building, or environmental health. Eligibility for Level 1 Assessment Manager accreditation under the PDI Act and membership with the Planning Institute of Australia.
