Strategic leadership position Flexible hybrid work environment (remote and office-based) Melbourne CBD location Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) is the national body representing over 14,500 members in the speech pathology profession. SPA supports and regulates the ethical, clinical and professional standards of its members as well as lobbying and advocating on behalf of all Australians living with communication and swallowing difficulties. We are seeking a highly motivated Manager, Professional Education, to provide strategic leadership and drive the development of impactful learning strategies that support the speech pathology profession. This role combines expertise in professional development education and event management with strong financial and commercial acumen to deliver sustainable, high-quality education programs across diverse delivery modes. Key Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To) Develop and implement the strategic vision for continual professional development education and events aligned with SPA's goals; measure its impact and success. Innovate and adapt offerings to meet evolving needs in speech pathology and market trends. Oversee the creation, development, and refinement of professional education and events programs. Integrate the latest educational technologies and methodologies to enhance learning experience and outcomes. Budget management, including planning, allocation and monitoring of resources. Identify and pursue opportunities for revenue generation. Develop strategies for long-term financial viability and growth of education programs. Key stakeholder engagement to understand learning needs for program advancement. Promote professional development and capacity building within the team. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, emerging needs, and new opportunities. Adapt the professional education portfolio to align with current market demands and anticipate future needs in the speech pathology field. Analyze and apply market research findings to refine educational offerings and ensure they effectively address industry requirements. Measure the impact of changes to the professional education portfolio to evaluate their alignment with market needs. Ensure that all educational activities and programs comply with relevant accreditation standards, regulations, and best practices. Ensure all programs are compliant with standards, with regular audits and adjustments based on regulatory changes. Essential Criteria To be successful in this role you will have: A bachelor’s degree in a related field. A Master's degree would be preferable. Proven experience in leading and managing continual professional development education and events programs, including curriculum development and innovative learning strategies. Experience in strategic planning and execution within the context of professional education and events. Sound financial acumen with experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost control. Proficiency in using modern educational technologies and learning management systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions. Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a diverse team. Excellent project management skills and ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and build relationships with external partners and stakeholders. Desirable Industry Knowledge: Background or experience in speech pathology or a related healthcare. Awareness of current trends and challenges in the field of professional education and events in membership associations. Marketing And Promotion Skills: Experience in marketing educational programs, including digital marketing. Innovative Mindset: Ability to innovate in program delivery and content, keeping up with industry trends.
