The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. Position Overview: As our new Manager Projects, Facilities & Assets, you will provide professional leadership of our strategic projects, facilities, asset management and sustainability functions. You will oversee the implementation of our project management framework, driving consistency and continuous improvement in the Shire’s management of minor to major projects across all functions to deliver high-quality, sustainable outcomes. You will work to enhance awareness and maturity of asset management and sustainability practices to ensure effective acquisition, maintenance and disposal of assets and achievement of sustainability objectives. You will also manage the scheduled maintenance of Shire’s facilities to ensure they are contemporary and fit for purpose. Your professional and consistent approach will see you build and grow our Projects, Facilities and Assets teams and foster a collaborative approach towards achieving the Shire’s organisational objectives. Your flexible communication style will ensure you build productive relationships with staff and stakeholders for the benefit of the community. Minimum Requirements: To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate:• Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shire’s HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork• Well-developed leadership and managerial skills and experience• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project and contract management• Demonstrated experience in project management of construction projects• Demonstrated experience in management of facilities and infrastructure assets• Demonstrated experience in procurement including drafting and specifying requests for quotations and tenders• Demonstrated understanding of climate change and sustainability• Strong oral and written communication skills including report writing experience• Sound knowledge and experience in relevant Workplace Safety and Health legislation• Computer skills in MS Office (Int/Adv in Word & Excel) and project management software• Sound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and their correct application Qualifications in Project Management, Environmental Management, Sustainable Development or equivalent, and experience with MS Project, AutoCAD, GIS or other asset management software will be highly regarded.
